Overview:

Anne of Green Gables is an early 20th century classic novel about a red-headed orphan girl who found a loving family in Green Gables. The story follows her kind yet eccentric character as she navigates through making friends, going to school, and - most importantly - getting into trouble. 

This book jacket design incorporates my painting of Anne Shirley with a modern twist. As the protagonist lacks confidence in her carrot-colored red hair and face full of freckles, the full-bleed image of her lips accentuates the true beauty of both her appearance and mind. The soft green background serves as a complement for her warm tones. The flowers describe her delicacy as a growing woman and her love for adventures outdoors. This new design offers a contemporary look at an old novel loved by children and adults alike.
